Sondrestrom Lidar Operation Log

Operator(s) : A.Merkel
Purpose : NLC detection and routine data taking
Date(s) : 000616 - 000616
File(s) : L6160 - L6160
Comments : The skies clear up around 4:00 am. Now it is very clear. But the Rayleigh system
is not running right. The count rate is too low and the background is too high.
Something has changed in the system. Either the halfwave plates are not set right
or the daystar needs to be realigned.

I took data for an hour to see how the Rayleigh system reacted. It is consistent
just low. The sodium channel looks good.

I am going to stop taking data for tonight and try and figure out what the issue is
tomorrow.
