Sondrestrom Lidar Operation Log

Purpose : Recording Noise Modulations with shorter intergration periods

Comments : This was a series of experiments to try and determine the noise modulation and
track the source of the noise. As of yet, I haven't found the source of the noise.
The investigated sources were the 1/2 wave plate controller and the timing unit.
Neither of these items appear to be the source, but further post-analysis may be
done on it. When the timing unit was turned off, the lasers were turned off as
well as the choppers. The SR430 set up files were called NoiseTest.exp,
NoiseTest.cha, NoiseTestIR.exp and NoiseTestIR.cha The most significant
change to the running of the SR430 was the number of profiles integrated together
to produce one record: 100 instead of 1800. While the timing unit was turned off,
the SR430 was triggered from a function generator at 30 Hz.
